Celebrating the Bible through
public readings, exhibitions and the performing arts.

Imagine a time when owning a Bible in English could cost you your life.

William Tyndale rose above the fear to bring the Bible to everyone. The Tyndale500 Festival marks the 500 year anniversary of the New Testament’s translation into English and reveals the treasure that was worth fighting for.

Public Readings

We believe that God still speaks through the Bible, His word to us. So come, listen, and see what He says to you. You may be in for a surprise! Our readers will be sharing the whole of the New Testament, plus extracts from the Old Testament. Grab a drink, relax, stay as long as you like – it can change your life.

See further info for the daily schedule.

Exhibition

Explore the development of the original Biblical texts and the translation of its wonders into the languages of the world. Discover more about Tyndale’s life, his extraordinary literary achievements, and the extreme trials he faces as he fights for the Bible in English.

Browse the bookstall, take in some refreshments and chat to people from across the Churches in Lymm. Open daily throughout the festival.

Poetry Slam

An electrifying night of rhythm and rhyme, where stories unfold and voices rise,
Feel the power of words that inspire,
that stand for truth and set hearts on fire.

Enter the competition, bring your own lines, captivate the crowd to claim the prize,
Or join the audience to soak in the vibes,
to dream, to soar, to open your eyes.

Let the battle begin!
